From Sonairte

The next Farmer's Market at Sonairte will be held on Sunday 15th November and will be the first Christmas market of the year

Catch the last raspberries of the season along with a variety of eating and cooking apples.

Among the vegetables available are potatoes, kale, spinach, chard, and leeks . Also available are half a dozen varieties of lettuce, tomatoes, c and our famous salad bags which include chicories, endives, cresses and rocket, as well as half a dozen kinds of lettuce - not to mention edible flowers and herbs.

Try the first of our new jam flavours as well - along with the old favourites such as raspberry, blackcurrant, and Luk's special rhubarb and ginger you can now try very special flavours such as elderberry and apple which is already proving a big hit with the customers in the Dublin Food Coop

It isn't too late to plant winter salad plants from the plant stall if you have somewhere protedted to grow them - garlic, winter cabbage, kale, chard, spinach, lettuce and winter chicories. We now have a range of native Irish apple trees, chosen for flavour, suitability for local growing, and a long season of use.

Rent a basket to sell your own fruit/vegetables. Advertise local events.

Painting classes for children with Ann Floody and Breda McQuillan.

The classes will be held at 11.30am. and 2.30pm., and will allow parents browse the market stalls while the children are being entertained!

Our stalls as ever are many and varied to include bedding plants, vegetables, delicious home baking, speciality bread, coated and caramelised nuts and organic hen and duck eggs. The craft stalls include jewellery, hand knitted items, linens, handcarved and decorated egg shells, pinatas, pottery, and wood turned clocks and ornaments.
